Abstract

An experiment was conducted in a medium fertile soil during the rabi season of 2001-02 to study the effect of humic acid (commercial formulation, earth which contains 12% humic acid) on the growth and yield of transplanted rice (cv IET 4786 or Satabdi). The highest dry matter accumulation to the tune of 329.8 and 651.1 g/m2 at 45 and 90 DAT respectively were recorded in the humic acid or earth 1.0 liter / hectare treatment which was at per with the dry matter accumulation (327.1 and 648.4 g/m2 at 45 and 90 DAT) obtained with FYM 7t/hectare. The highest number of effective tillers (288/m2) and the highest numbers of filled grains (70.2/panicle) were recorded with the treatment earth at 1.0 liter/hectare. The highest grain yield (3.72t/hectare) was recorded with earth 1.0 liter/hectare which was at per with the grain yield recorded with FYM at 7t/hectare and earth 1.5 liter/hectare each producing 3.66t/hectare of grain yield. It is therefore quite obvious that before transplanting, soil application of humic acid or earth at 1.0liter/hectare in summer rice can produce grain yield of rice equivalent to the obtained from 7/hectare of farm yard manure.

WHAT TO DO IN THIS NEW TEA SEASON

Observation: T K. Chakraborty. Consultant

Planning for the crop year 2004- 2005 has begun.

In LP sections after knife cleaning spray GUARD**
@ 1kg /200ltrs water.

Benefit :

  1. Easy sprouting +Equal flushing.

  2. Plucking table is established within 2 rounds of tipping instead of 4 rounds in conventional methods.

  3. Tipping starts from 2nd week of March, that is, 1 month in advance. So early table is established with early and more plucking points.

In MS/DS/DS 2 pruning just after cleaning the pruning litter on the bush apply GUARD 1kg /200ltrs water for getting early table formation 15 days in the advance than usual. That means tripping can start last week of February. The result early and more plucking points.
